The Martin Collier Phillips Corporation (MCPC) today announced it has been awarded a significant contract valued at $425 million by the United States Air Force to conduct comprehensive advanced propulsion systems testing and evaluation at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The contract was awarded through the Air Force Test Center and will leverage MCPC’s world-class testing facilities and deep expertise in aviation technology.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, MCPC will be responsible for the rigorous test and evaluation of next-generation propulsion systems for future Air Force aircraft platforms. This work will be primarily managed through the corporation’s renowned J. Martin Propulsion Systems Laboratory (PSL) complex, a facility with a distinguished history of providing critical test and evaluation capabilities since its establishment in the early 1970s.
The scope of work includes:
- Performance testing and analysis of advanced jet engine prototypes
- Evaluation of novel fuel efficiency and emission reduction technologies
- High-altitude and extreme-weather condition simulation testing
- Systems integration and safety certification support
- Data collection, analysis, and reporting for Air Force acquisition programs
This contract builds upon MCPC’s long-standing reputation as a leader in aerospace services and defense innovation. With roots in the aviation industry dating back to its founding in 1930, the corporation has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of national defense, making it a trusted partner for critical military programs.
“Edwards Air Force Base is synonymous with cutting-edge aerospace testing, and we are honored to be selected to support the Air Force’s vital mission,” said a spokesperson for MCPC. “Our J. Martin Propulsion Systems Laboratory has been at the forefront of propulsion testing for over half a century, and this contract reflects the confidence the Department of Defense has in our technical capabilities and our commitment to excellence. We look forward to helping ensure our warfighters have access to the most advanced and reliable propulsion technology available.”
The contract is expected to sustain approximately 300 highly skilled engineering and technical positions across MCPC’s domestic operations, with primary work conducted at the J. Martin PSL complex and supporting activities from the corporation’s various U.S. locations.
